This is inspiring. Now, my turn. I'll summon my courage and get chatting with some artsy folks at all those illo meetings and art receptions. Thank you for posting this. Whoo hoo!

Ilise, great post as usual. You seem to know your audience inside and out. One thing I've found that helps me keep my networking courage high is to make a game out of the event. I give myself target #'s for people to meet and even # of articles to hand out. Otherwise I'm throwing $20-$75 down the drain and wasting hours of my time.

Melissa - Go for it! I just got back from 10 days of mixing it up and I feel like I'm fire-powered...and this, from a total introvert!

Nick - That's an excellent game: CPM, or "Cost per Meetee". Plus, come on--"meetee" is a great word!

One notes: while the lead-in was Ilise's, this post was by guest mixer Jezra Kaye. Which I say partly to credit her and partly to say, Hey! Submit those ideas for guest posts, folks!
