More about why you should not work hourly

One of the "most read" articles (with lots of reader comments) in the "Learn" section of my new favorite networking site, Biznik, is the one called, "Why I Don't Work Hourly and Neither Should You" by Chris Haddad.

The topic is a hot one that we get a lot of pushback on too when we talk about it. But I love this article because Chris is brutally honest about the effect of hourly work. I especially like his insight into how it encourages deception and is unfair to your clients. Read the article here.

For more on this topic, listen to the recent webcast Peleg Top and I did with FunctionFox on hourly rates.

And here's our article on the topic: How Much is Your Time Worth?

...which is a distillation of the chapter on "what to charge" in our new book, The Designer's Guide to Marketing and Pricing, which is available for pre-order from Amazon here.
