Good advice. Tone is so hard to manage in text. I'm on one list where the moderator seems to be a complete jerk, but people who know him personally swear he's just a nice guy with an intense devotion to his craft. However, I don't post on that list, since I don't need to become the subject of one of his, um, lectures.

I make sure I don't write anything (on ANY list or blog) that I don't want read by unknown parties. I've picked up several clients over the past few years via blog and msg board postings. I'm now trying to make my postings more frequent, just in case my perfect client is out there reading.
