Are you "excited" about your target market?
In my Beginner Marketing Group, one of the first steps is choosing a target market.
In my group call today, we got into a very interesting discussion about whether a market (like healthcare, renewable energy or financial services) needs to be "exciting" to you in order to pursue it as a target market.
Listen to this clip from the call. (1:45)
What do you think? Does your target market need to be “exciting”?
P.S. If you need to pinpoint your target market (and get your marketing rolling) the next Beginner Marketing Group starts the week of Sept 27th. Details here or fill out this form.

There should be something exciting about the market. That exciting thing may not be immediately obvious. Maybe it's simply the availability of steady work, or that the clients tend to be easy to work with or are more hands-off. Or maybe it's not the typical "exciting" like the film industry, restaurants, etc. but maybe it's a type of organization that you can feel good about supporting, because it's a nonprofit, does exciting research, supports learning, or something else. I can usually find something about an industry that is appealing; you just have to look.
