This post was just what I needed to read this a.m.! Last night I was discouraged that I wasn't doing enough to market my business, even though I've been attending local networking events like crazy, maintaining my SN sites, creating lists of contacts, following up on old contacts, re-doing my site, and re-visiting new prospects. Your "elevator intro" actually made me rethink what mine should be -- maybe it's not that I'm not marketing enough, but that I'm not doing it the right way. Thanks for this motivation - I'm working on a new intro right now, and have an event to attend in an hour! And, lucky you, living in Dublin, I hope to visit there one day.

Tara, thank you, and it sure sounds like you're doing quite a bit of marketing! Remember, every thing you do is a step in the right direction. Great job! ps. So glad my elevator pitch gave you some new ideas.

I used my "new" pitch (somewhat like yours!) this morning, and I now have 2 very qualified leads! Thanks again.

Diedre - great story! Congratulations! (Is it just me, or could I hear echoes of Ilise saying "Get out there! Meet people! Talk to people.!")

I'm paraphrasing her there a bit, but her bias toward action has paid happy dividends for me, and I'm delighted to hear about this happening for you.

A round of applause!

I'm so glad to be echoing in your ear, TurtleBlueBird. That's the whole point!

Thanks for sharing this story, Deidre. It's great to hear a real-life situation described in a way I can feel it can happen to me too. I'm still planning to start "conscious" networking, so the more I read about it, the better!

TurtleBlueBird- thank you!

Tara, GOOD JOB!

And Claudia, I cannot stress enough that I am definitely a "real-life" person. BELIEVE ME... it can happen to you. Great job, and let us know how it goes!

What a great story! I love that your first reaction was that you had to tell us.

Congrats, and thanks for the shot of inspiration.

I also have to kick myself out the door to networking events (and sometimes I can't kick hard enough). I'm now inspired to work on my elevator pitch and have it polished and ready.

Thanks, and congrats!
