Colleen, I'm definitely followin you here, and I look forward to making progress in tandem using Ilise's (excellent!) new Calendar.

(P.S. Thanks for the heads up on Jonathan Salem Baskin. Great stuff!)

Thank you Colleen for posting this incredibly useful info. Hoping to get a jump start using the calendar before the Staying on Track group gets going. Great job! Keep it up.

I will whole-heartedly agree with you on backing up, and will do it this time around. Last year I spent a good amount of time syncing, importing and such from my cell phone, email account, mac account and business cards using Address Book, only to make a bone-headed mistake and lose it all a few months later.

Thanks, Colleen! Excellent information about the smart groups and hashtags in Address Book. Love that! You have made my commitment to update and organize my contacts less overwhelming. Can't wait to see what you've got next week!

Yet again, I always learn something from you. I actually have the contacts, but didn't label them with the obvious. I spent less than an hour going through my contacts, tagged them and realized, yes, I do need to review them much more often than I did last year.

TurtleBlueBird - Fantastic! And I'm so glad you enjoyed Jonathan's book. It really is chock full of useful stuff for us small guys, too.

Lauri - I'll keep going if you will!

Prax - Oof. I feel your pain. I think the only reason anyone learns good backup habits is from a painful lesson.

Alison - Glad you liked it. The simple stuff really does make a difference. Remember, if you're an iPhone user, Smart Groups don't sync. Maybe with Snow Leopard. A gal can dream, can't she?

Stephanie - Wow! That's high praise, coming from you. And I know you have a ton of good tips about this sort of stuff, so pipe up wherever you see the opportunity.

Thanks for helpful tips, Colleen! I'm amazed and entertained at how you present your discoveries. How do you sync Facebook contacts with Address Book? Cheers on a great post!

Just finished going through my contacts. Thanks for the momentum!

TBB - Glad you liked Jonathan's book. He's a smarty with lots of good info for solopreneur marketers.

Lauri - You're welcome, and I'm glad you found it useful! I'm looking forward to hearing how the groups are going. Pester Ilise to write some posts, willya?

Prax - Them what is bone-headed learn how to be smart. Or at least, why they should be. Glad you've learned; I'm trying!

Alison - You're welcome! It's the little things, innit?

Stephanie - High praise, coming from an organized lady like yourself. Thanks, and feel free to pipe in with any tips you've got to add!

Colleen,
Thanks for sharing your strategy with the #tags.

I've been thinking this through as well, sometimes using umbrella tags broken down by a key first letter (vendor - v:print, v:letterpress, v:offset / designer - d:illustration, d:typography) and so on.

I'm exceedingly thrilled with 37signals' Highrise software. Free up to 250 names, and I'll be subscribing after that.

Keep up the good work.
