Wake up and start your marketing plan
While some were busy on Christmas Eve doing last-minute shopping, I spent a few minutes chatting with Jim Blasingame of the Small Business Advocate about this "thing" he refuses to acknowledge as a recession (and his pathological optimism) and about the tools and strategies I am recommending to my clients for 2009 -- with a subtle reference to our new, improved, upgraded and
updated, Grow Your Business Marketing Plan + Calendar.
You can listen to our conversation here (you'll hear Charlie chiming in
too).

I'm glad to hear you recommend Email Marketing as one of the basic 5 tools for marketing a small business or solo practise.
People have been too quick to dismiss it lately because of too much spam, but if done right, email still delivers a high ROI - according to the Direct Marketing Association - email returns $52 on every dollar spent - higher than any other marketing channel.

I'd like to share my secrets of a successful marketing campaign that we are currently running.
As the principal of a small design firm, I am committed to growing our business and instituted a marketing campaign that kicked off at the end of last year. While we are still in the early stages of the campaign, it is pulling a good response so far, and so I wanted to share it with you in the hopes of inspiring your marketing efforts this year.
The plan included developing a list of 250 Jewish Communities Centers with multiple names for each organization, creating an 8-page brochure around the specific needs of JCCs, and hiring someone make follow-up calls.
I wrote an extensive article that describes the entire process, the costs, the results and lessons.

Designers are smart, creative and resourceful. By applying the same effort that we do for our clients into marketing ourselves, there is nothing we can't achieve!
