Women in Business Survey

A few years ago, I met Diane Danielson, a fellow speaker at a women-in-business event. She was the founder of the Downtown Women's Club and had recently written a book on networking, Table Talk: The Savvy Girl's Alternative to Networking.

Diane and I have stayed in touch since then, supporting each other in whatever way we can (she sends me lots of speaking leads). So I'm spreading the word about the DWC survey of women in business.

One of the objectives of this survey is to see whether businesswomen have (1) increased their online networking, and (2) are starting to use social media tools like blogs, social networks, and message boards. They've also added two questions near the end about Sarah Palin.  They want working women to have their say!

Here's the survey link.

Comments

Hi, Ilise:

Thank you for the DWC survey link. I took the survey because I use social networking a lot for business purposes.

However, I was curious as to why this survey suddenly switched from social networking to political polling, especially focusing on Sarah Palin as a working mom. An interesting segue, which left me wondering what the organization's ultimate purpose was in offering the survey.

Ilise - thanks for posting!

@alvalyn - Thanks, too, for taking the survey and raising the question about why we threw in a couple of Palin-related questions. At the time we were putting together the survey, many of our members and colleagues were dismayed at the way the mommy wars were being revisited due to Palin's nomination. They also expressed their dislike of the assumption that they would vote soley based on gender. Because we were going out to 1000 working women and the "mommy wars" was something we had asked about in our 2007 survey, we felt we had an opportunity to update both surveys in one. And, that we could do so in a bipartisan, timely sort of way.

We look forward to sharing the results with Ilise and others shortly!
