Should you be blogging?
The question of whether or not to use a blog as a marketing tool comes up a lot in conversations with clients lately.
So here's an article from one of our favorite NY Times blogs, Marci Alboher's "Shifting Careers," that begins to answer the question: is a blog is a good marketing tool for you?
What do you think?

Yes, I believe that a blog is an excellent marketing tool, provided that you understand the commitment involved. Thoughtful blogging requires time to write quality articles as well as time to read and comment on other blogs.
A blog can help your business because it's an excellent customer education platform. A well-written, regularly updated blog is also a credibility builder because it positions you as an expert on your topic. And then there's the search angle: Search engines love regularly updated content.
For these reasons and more, I feel that a blog can be a very helpful to our online marketing efforts.

Blogging is the single best (and cheapest) investment I ever made in myself and my business. I cannot recommend it enough!
When I meet a potential client, they have the luxury of "getting to know me" through my blog to help them decide if we should work together.
When I regularly give valuable content to my readers, they return the favor to me
There is really no downside to blogging from my perspective, and I would stop all other forms of marketing before I would stop blogging. It is really that good!
